Is there enough search demand in a technical engineering niche to be worth working?
There is more than most engineering firms expect. Aplica Engenharia, an electrical engineering consultancy, accumulated 1.86 million search impressions between April 2025 and January 2026, with average position improving from 12.3 to 4.6, from the second page to the top five. More than 680 keywords ended the engagement on page one, on searches like earthing types, SPDA requirements and the cost of a power entry project.
The situation
Aplica Engenharia is an electrical engineering consultancy: power entry projects, earthing and equipotential bonding, SPDA lightning protection, electrical installations. The assumption in that kind of firm is usually that nobody searches for what it does, that the work arrives through referral and nowhere else.
The searches exist. They are technical, low in volume per term and high in intent, and there are thousands of them.
What we did
The leanest scope of any case on this site: five articles a month for six months (content strategy), one Reddit account (community seeding) and digital PR. Each article answers one question an engineering client asks before hiring, in the client's own words.

What happened
Average position went from 12.3 in May 2025 to 4.6 in January 2026. The site stopped being something you found on the second page and started being one of the first five answers. Over the window it accumulated 1,858,569 impressions, peaking at 234,639 in a single month.
The engine is ordinary technical content: a page on the cost of a power entry project sits at position 3.6, one on the four types of consultancy at 3.4, one on the difference between TN-S and TN-C earthing at 3.6. None of those is a glamorous search. Together they are more than 680 keywords on page one.
